Short Bio:
A. Kraidy is an electrical engineering MSc holder, Sustainable Energy lead expert with more than 22 years of expertise in cost-effective policies design, institutional support, business incubation, technical assistance, and implementation strategies. Few months ago, Eng. Kraidy established AKST Consultancy Company in Dubai, to provide different services focusing on, Energy and sustainability policies and plans, strategic planning, reforming and structuring analysis for energy markets, in addition to business expansion and fundraising in sustainability and clean energy projects. Eng. Kraidy has recently authored proposals for international donors and development financiers, and conducted strategic studies, reports and white papers in the field of Energy and Sustainability. Mr. Kraidy has participated in several projects, strategic activities and initiatives serving the transformation of the Arab region towards the adoption of sustainable energy solutions, such as co-authoring the Arab Sustainable Energy Strategy, and he spoke in several international events around the world.
Previously, Eng. Kraidy served as Planning and Technical project’s Director at the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), where he was in charge of organizational planning, fundraising and communication development of RCREEE. He started his career in 2001 at the Syrian Ministry of Electricity in Damascus. In 2009, he started his working experience with The German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) as a Senior Energy Expert to support RCREEE establishment. In 2011 he joined RCREEE as Initiations Portfolio Manager. In 2013, he was assigned to work as a Senior Advisor to the Energy Department at the League of Arab States on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Building (BMUB). Mr. Kraidy obtained his master’s degree in Power Engineering in 2009, specializing on EE labels and standards for home appliances.
